Paula Chavanne first started working for Deep South in 1994 in Shreveport’s underwriting department. During her first year, she worked as an assistant to the quick quote unit where she rated and issued auto quotes. Paula then transferred to the accounting department for the next 8 years. She started in accounts receivable and collections and then was given responsibility for the General Ledger for several branches, keeping the claims bank statement, and filing the surplus lines tax filings to each state. When the accounting department was moved to the Texas office, Paula transferred to the Texas branch as an Insurance Accounting Manager. Recently, Paula moved back to Louisiana transferring to the Shreveport audit department as a premium auditor

Paula started in the insurance industry more than 20 years ago. Her first job was a personal lines CSR for 2 years. Paula then spent the next 2 years working for the agent who wrote the master policy for the McDonald’s franchises, where she was the compliance representative for that program. She was responsible for maintaining the agent’s licensing and surplus lines tax filing, making sure requirements were met, as well as maintaining a mapping program for all the insured restaurants

Paula holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. She is married with 3 children and enjoys spending time with her family and attending the children’s many sporting events.
