Steve has thirty years of experience in the safety and loss control business. He has been employed with Deep South since 2001. Steve serves Deep South clients in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee and resides in the Piedmont section of North Carolina.

Steve’s first career was as a teacher serving in the North Carolina public school system. Those teaching skills would serve him well in his new career where teaching and educating businesses about safety and loss control are critical. Steve’s insurance career began with a reciprocal multi-line insurance company which provided insurance and risk management services to the forest products industry including sawmills, pallet mills, furniture manufacturing, woodworking shops and lumber companies. Steve then broadened his insurance industry experience working for two other insurance companies to include risks in construction, trucking, restaurants, used car dealers, logging and a variety of manufacturing businesses. Steve has his agent's license, surplus lines license and is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.

Steve is active in his community serving as Treasurer and Sunday School Superintendent of his local church which also has a school with an enrollment of over three hundred students.

In his spare time, Steve is a sports enthusiast having participated on various teams throughout high school, college and adult life.
