Deep South originated as a single office in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1967. The phenomenal growth and success of Deep South over the past decade facilitated the expansion into what is now a multi-state insurance industry leader. As the cornerstone of the organization, Deep South’s Louisiana office is the prototype office and has always been considered the company flagship. Not only is Shreveport the largest branch office, we are also the largest commercial auto facility in Louisiana, controlling over ten percent of the entire market.

Deep South is a full service office providing marketing, underwriting, policy processing, loss control, quality assurance, claims handling and premium audit. The staff of Deep South’s Louisiana office is well qualified, experienced and focused on commercial insurance products. An emphasis is placed on providing all employees and agency personnel with training and continuing education in areas specific to the Deep South book of business.

Deep South is a select market for preferred commercial auto, commercial general liability, garage, property and inland marine accounts, offering a full product line to support the Louisiana industrial climate, including oil and gas/petrochemical services, timber/forestry, farming, construction, retailers and manufacturers, municipalities, garage and service industries and select trucking risks.

The Louisiana underwriting team has over 260 years of combined multi-line insurance experience and is comprised of career insurance professionals focused on the industry and exposures unique to Louisiana.

Deep South is also staffed with professional Loss Control Engineers possessing more than 100 years of combined experience in the insurance industry. A staff Loss Control Engineer personally inspects each account written by Deep South at the inception of the policy. Further services can be provided during the policy term including driver training and participation in safety meetings.

Deep South’s Shreveport office has an in-house claims department and an in-house legal department. Regardless of accident location, its claims staff handles all losses for Louisiana producers. The claims department excels in providing top quality claims administration to insureds through an innovative claims philosophy and through combined adjuster experience exceeding 210 years.

The agency base for Deep South’s Louisiana office is comprised of over 100 independent agencies.
